Oxford Sociology now invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to participate in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Fellowships Scheme 2026.
MSCA Fellowships are highly flexible funding schemes offered to experienced researchers with a minimum of PhD-level experience who move to be based at the hosting institution, where they will work with their supervisors to deliver a specific project involving research, innovation, training and networking activities.
The grant provides an allowance to cover living, travel and family costs. Research costs and associated overheads of the research organisations are also supported.
Sociology at Oxford has a strong analytical, empirical and comparative orientation with a focus on developing and testing theories that engage with real world problems. Our strengths include statistical analysis of social surveys, social demography, collection management and analysis of complex datasets, the development of rational choice theory, microsocial experiments and simulation studies.
Types of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship
- European Postdoctoral Fellowship: for researchers wishing to undertake the full fellowship at the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford.
- Global Postdoctoral Fellowship: for eligible European nationals or long-term residents wishing to spend an initial outgoing phase at a host institution outside Europe, followed by a mandatory return phase at the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford.
Mentorship
Applicants wishing to apply for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship funding must secure the support of a mentor based within the Department of Sociology ahead of application.

If you are interested in applying for the scheme with the Department, please fill in the application form and return it to research@sociology.ox.ac.uk by 17:00 BST on Wednesday 24 June 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.

Following an internal selection process, selected candidates will then be contacted to iteratively develop their application with the Department, with the Departmental deadline to do so of Wednesday 26 August 2026.
