Thesis: The Bond That Lasts? Class Mobility and Political Behaviour in Western Europe

Giacomo Melli is a DPhil Candidate in Sociology and is affiliated with Trinity College. His research interests lie within political sociology, where he primarily focuses on the study of political socialisation and class mobility, exploring their implications for political attitudes and behaviours. Additionally, he examines the significance of the subjective aspects of social stratification and their impact on political behaviour and individual political preferences in Europe.
Previously, he obtained a master's degree in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento (Italy), where he also worked as a Research Assistant. In 2022, he visited Nuffield College (Oxford) as a Junior Visiting Scholar.
